Our Midwest client firm is a leading provider of Personal Care, OTC and high-end Skincare products and is seeking to expand their team with an individual that has between 4 and 10 years of experience in the formulation of cosmetics, hair, skin, OTC, personal care, or oral care. A related science degree would be appropriate as would some demonstrated experience managing projects.

Since this position will be instrumental in guiding a product through and beyond the formulation stage to scale up, piloting, manufacturing and packaging you will be working with a variety of both internal and external clients. Not every scientist wants to work beyond the bench; some want a full-time lab environment. This is not that kind of role.

Technical skills are only half of the job. In addition we are seeking someone would has the interpersonal skills to guide their project through to final production. Have you identified suppliers, led inter-departmental teams, scaled up, validated claims, and managed processes with budgets and timelines? Job Duties:

• Formulation, new product application development and assessment of polymer technology used in a variety of personal care applications.
• Ensure physical stability, efficacy, consumer appeal, processing capabilities and cost effectiveness.
• Take personal care products from initial product conception through first production, including but not limited to product formulation, documentation, scale-up, and process development.
• Assist in the development of new formulations for different personal care products and cosmetics
• Assist in the formulation of product prototypes and evaluate them for chemical and physical properties, performance, and stability.

Bring the following skills and experience to the table for immediate consideration:

• B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biology or Chemistry (or related)
• 2-5 years product development and formulation experience in Personal Care which can include skincare, hair care, nail care, cosmetics and OTC
• Willingness to travel up to 20%
• Strong Communication and Leadership Skills
