Strong year-over-year growth is creating a new role of Operations Manager (Plant Manager) at this contract manufacturer of skincare and OTC products who also has it’s own brands. This second generation, family-owned business is seeking an experienced production manager to provide technical expertise and leadership on the plant floor. Areas of responsibility will include production, compounding, scheduling, and warehouse. Some additional office staff will also report to this person.

Must have strong communication skills, the ability to manage 20+ employees, and a track record of job growth in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. Though seeking someone with as little as 3-6 years of skincare or OTC production management experience, they would also consider related industries such as cosmetics, food, beverage, pharmaceutical or vitamins. And if you have more years of appropriate experience, they are willing to pay more.

Many employees have been with this company for more than a decade and the owners have labored hard to create a warm and friendly work environment. Now with an increased headcount they need someone to mentor the team to allow them to focus on the most strategic aspects the business. A successful Operations Manager can expect to grow into a Chief Operations Officer in time. This is a chance to oversee and nurture many different areas of the business and to drive positive change through an organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Scheduling employees and production
• Standardization of SOP’s and GMP’s
• Managing warehouse, quality, production, and office staff
• Oversight of regulatory, inventory and shipping
• Hiring and training of staff

Requirements for Job Success:

• 3-15+ years production management experience (skincare/OTC preferred, but cosmetics, food, beverage, pharmaceutical or vitamins considered)
• Strong mentoring skills
• Proven ability to hire, train and grow employees in their roles
