The time has come to for our client company to add a Director of Operations at this US-based contract manufacturer of cosmetics products who also has its own brands. Growth requires additional talent and expertise. This third-generation, family-owned business is seeking an experienced and well-rounded operations professional to provide business expertise and leadership. Areas of responsibility will include production, sales, research, and warehouse.

Must have strong communication skills, the ability to manage 20+ employees, and a track record of job growth in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. For this role we are seeking someone with 10+ years of beauty industry manufacturing and management experience. This could be in cosmetics, skincare, hair care or personal care manufacturing.

Many employees have been with this company for more than a decade and the owners have labored hard to create a warm and friendly work environment. Now they need someone to mentor the team and provide day-to-day operational and administrative leadership to allow the owners to focus on the most strategic aspects of the business. This is a chance to oversee and nurture many different areas of the business and to drive positive change through an organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily business operations by working closely with the owners and department heads and supervisors.
  • Develop and implement policies for daily operations.
  • Oversee procurement and resource allocation.
  • Work with HR to create job descriptions, hire competent personnel and oversee employee training programs.
  • Ensure quality control and safety across all aspects of production.

Requirements for Job Success:

  • Bachelors degree in business or a related field (preferred).
  • 10 years of cosmetics manufacturing experience (i.e., cosmetics, skincare, hair care, or personal care).
  • 10 years of experience managing people.
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP), OSHA guidelines, employee rights and FDA regulations.

Compensation:

  • $130,000-$200,000.
  • Full benefits including health, dental & vision.
  • Yearly performance bonus.
  • Paid time off.
