Job Scope:
Our client is growing again and needs to expand it’s workforce. We are looking for an energetic and passionate National Director of Retail Sales to join their team and oversee multiple existing accounts across the US, manage all accounts’ P&L’s, and to drive new business across existing and new accounts. In this role, you will establish strategic and strong relationship across accounts with key stakeholders; work closely with cross functional teams to develop innovative marketing plans and retail-centric programs; develop and negotiate 360 marketing plans; and work to increase market share. Your efforts and success are critical to our success. They need your directly-related experience selling products to retailers in beauty or personal care retail channels to help drive their growth and prosperity. Job Duties:

  • Leading the company’s sales efforts in all retail channels to include the following: Specialty beauty retailers (i.e., ULTA, Sephora, Sally Beauty & Target), Mass market (i.e., Walmart), Drug store (i.e., CVS, Rite-Aid & Walgreens), Shopping clubs (i.e., Costco, Sam’s Club), and Direct-to-Consumer (i.e., HSN/QVC)
  • Develop retailer business development strategy to promote sell-through at the store & .com level
  • Liaise directly with account partners to execute all day-to-day sales & marketing activities related to in store and online businesses
  • Collaborate internally with marketing, planning & visual merchandising teams
  • Represent and advocate retailer needs with internal cross-functional partners in marketing, social media, planning, product development and education
  • Drive sell-in of new launches, track timing of stock and analyze business performance by account on a weekly basis proposing recommendations to drive retail sales
  • Manage seasonal retail product assortments and merchandising updates, including sales analysis for recommendations
  • Manage one direct report to start (Senior Manager of Retail Operations who is responsible for order processing, on-time shipment, fulfillment house & EDI)

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience presenting and selling beauty/personal care brands into retail accounts with a focus on masstige
  • Experience created sales presentations in this space (hair, skin, cosmetics, or beauty accessories)
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts including increasing sales at existing ones as well as securing new business
  • Understanding of how to put together marketing campaigns at the in-store (internal) level, such as promotions and advertising), and external level (PR/social media)
  • Works well in a highly collaborative teamwork environment
  • Creative problem solving
  • Experience building and driving an effective and efficient team and vendor relationships
  • Passion for beauty and personal care products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
